Our Story

Pond View Farm is located on Route 138 in Sprague, CT. We started our journey because we wanted to have our own pastured raised meats and grow our own vegetables. We strive to follow organic practices and even use our own composted manure as fertilizer for our pastures and vegetables.

While all of our animals are on pasture and consume grass and hay, we do supplement them with locally grown grains from Chris Farms in Scotland, CT along with a loose vitamin/mineral mix. We recently started feeding all of our animals dried Sea Kelp, noted for it’s rich source of micro and macro nutrients, it develops a stronger immune system and makes them thrive! Our animals are never given any steriods or growth hormones.

We like to specialize in providing meat boxes aka meat shares. We use a USDA inspected butcher facility which allows us to sell you individual cuts of meat so you don’t have to purchase half a cow or pig! We do also offer our animals by the whole or half, it is done at the same USDA facility and will be vacuum packed and individually labeled for your convenience, just like our meat shares!

We are a small scale farm and plan to stay that way to preserve the quality of our products. We only raise and send a limited number of animals to butcher every year, if you would like to purchase a wholesale share please reach out to us in advance as we book up rather quickly.

We have piglets available year round if you would like to raise them yourself, please inquire on prices and availability.

We do not have a farm store currently, but plan to add one in the future, so for now we are appointment only (we are very flexible with times!) or visit our small roadside stand for fresh eggs and some of our meats!
